A Comprehensive Guide to Using 'Will be' and 'Shall be'
Hello Students! After mastering the Present (Is/Am/Are) and the Past (Was/Were), it is time to look at the Future (आने वाला समय). We use Will be and Shall be to describe a state, quality, or identity that will exist in the future.
Identification and Basic Rules (Will be/Shall be के नियम)
हिंदी में इनका अर्थ "होगा", "होगी", "होंगे", या "बनूँगा" होता है। इनका प्रयोग भविष्य की स्थिति बताने के लिए किया जाता है।
* Shall be: इसका प्रयोग केवल I और We के साथ किया जाता है।
* Will be: इसका प्रयोग बाकी सभी Subjects के साथ किया जाता है।
* You, They, He, She, It, Name, Singular Nouns, Plural Nouns.
Modern Note: आधुनिक अंग्रेजी (Modern English) में अब सभी Subjects के साथ Will be का प्रयोग आम हो गया है, लेकिन व्याकरण (Grammar) के अनुसार I/We के साथ Shall be बेहतर माना जाता है।
Simple (Affirmative) Sentences
Rule: Subject + Will be/Shall be + Object.
* I shall be a teacher. — मैं एक शिक्षक बनूँगा।
* She will be very happy. — वह बहुत खुश होगी।
* They will be in Delhi tomorrow. — वे कल दिल्ली में होंगे।
* He will be my teammate. — वह मेरा टीममेट होगा।
* We shall be late for the party. — हमें पार्टी के लिए देर हो जाएगी।
* It will be a sunny day. — कल धूप वाला दिन होगा।
* Ram will be a famous doctor. — राम एक प्रसिद्ध डॉक्टर बनेगा।
* You will be a great player. — तुम एक महान खिलाड़ी बनोगे।
* The flowers will be fresh in the morning. — सुबह फूल ताज़े होंगे।
* My father will be at home. — मेरे पिता घर पर होंगे।
* The children will be hungry soon. — बच्चे जल्द ही भूखे होंगे।
* This city will be clean. — यह शहर साफ होगा।
* I shall be ready in ten minutes. — मैं दस मिनट में तैयार हो जाऊँगा।
* The mangoes will be sweet. — आम मीठे होंगे।
* They will be at the airport. — वे एयरपोर्ट पर होंगे।
* We shall be winners. — हम विजेता होंगे।
* He will be an honest officer. — वह एक ईमानदार अधिकारी बनेगा।
* The sky will be clear tonight. — आज रात आसमान साफ होगा।
* You will be tired after work. — काम के बाद तुम थक जाओगे।
* Cows will be in the shed. — गाएँ छप्पर में होंगी।
Negative Sentences
Rule: Subject + Will/Shall + Not + Be + Object.
(Note: Not हमेशा Will/Shall और Be के बीच में आता है)
* I shall not be a thief. — मैं चोर नहीं बनूँगा।
* She will not be a singer. — वह गायिका नहीं बनेगी।
* They will not be tired. — वे थके हुए नहीं होंगे।
* He will not be at home tomorrow. — वह कल घर पर नहीं होगा।
* We shall not be late. — हमें देर नहीं होगी।
* It will not be cold tomorrow. — कल ठंड नहीं होगी।
* Ram will not be a liar. — राम झूठा नहीं होगा।
* You will not be alone. — तुम अकेले नहीं होगे।
* The doors will not be open. — दरवाज़े खुले नहीं होंगे।
* My brother will not be a pilot. — मेरा भाई पायलट नहीं बनेगा।
* The water will not be clean. — पानी साफ नहीं होगा।
* They will not be our enemies. — वे हमारे दुश्मन नहीं होंगे।
* I shall not be angry with you. — मैं तुमसे नाराज़ नहीं हूँगा।
* This test will not be easy. — यह टेस्ट आसान नहीं होगा।
* We shall not be rich without hard work. — बिना मेहनत के हम अमीर नहीं होंगे।
* She will not be your classmate. — वह तुम्हारी सहपाठी नहीं होगी।
* The food will not be tasty. — खाना स्वादिष्ट नहीं होगा।
* He will not be a tall man. — वह लंबा आदमी नहीं होगा।
* You will not be present in the meeting. — तुम मीटिंग में उपस्थित नहीं होगे।
* It will not be my fault. — यह मेरी गलती नहीं होगी।

* Shall I be your friend? — क्या मैं तुम्हारा दोस्त बनूँगा?
* Will she be a nurse? — क्या वह एक नर्स बनेगी?
