A Comprehensive Guide to Using 'Had'
Hello Students! Now that you have mastered Has and Have, it is time to learn about Had. This is even simpler because the rule remains the same for every subject!
Identification and Basic Rules (Had के नियम)
English में Had का प्रयोग भूतकाल (Past Tense) में अधिकार (Possession) या संबंध (Relation) दिखाने के लिए किया जाता है। हिंदी में इसका अर्थ अक्सर "के पास था/थी/थे" या "रखता था" होता है।
* Had का प्रयोग: इसका प्रयोग सभी Subjects के साथ किया जाता है, चाहे वे Singular हों या Plural.
* I, We, You, They, He, She, It, Name, Singular Nouns, Plural Nouns. सबके साथ Had लगेगा।
Simple (Affirmative) Sentences
Rule: Subject + Had + Object.
* I had an old car. — मेरे पास एक पुरानी कार थी।
* She had a long umbrella. — उसके पास एक लंबा छाता था।
* They had a big farm. — उनके पास एक बड़ा फार्म था।
* He had a golden watch. — उसके पास एक सुनहरी घड़ी थी।
* We had many goats. — हमारे पास कई बकरियां थीं।
* It had a long tail. — इसकी एक लंबी पूंछ थी।
* Ram had a brave dog. — राम के पास एक बहादुर कुत्ता था।
* You had a chance to win. — तुम्हारे पास जीतने का मौका था।
* The bird had a small nest. — पक्षी के पास एक छोटा घोंसला था।
* My grandfather had a walking stick. — मेरे दादाजी के पास एक छड़ी थी।
* The children had many balloons. — बच्चों के पास बहुत सारे गुब्बारे थे।
* She had curly hair. — उसके घुंघराले बाल थे।
* We had a holiday yesterday. — कल हमारी छुट्टी थी।
* The king had a large army. — राजा के पास एक विशाल सेना थी।
* I had a fever last night. — मुझे कल रात बुखार था।
* They had a secret plan. — उनके पास एक गुप्त योजना थी।
* The tree had many fruits. — पेड़ पर बहुत सारे फल थे।
* Mohan had a wooden chair. — मोहन के पास एक लकड़ी की कुर्सी थी।
* You had my pen yesterday. — कल तुम्हारे पास मेरा पेन था।
* The cow had a bell around its neck. — गाय के गले में एक घंटी थी।
Negative Sentences
Rule: Subject + Did + Not + Have + Object.
(Note: Past Negative में Did के आने पर Had, Have में बदल जाता है)
* I did not have a bike. — मेरे पास बाइक नहीं थी।
* She did not have a red dress. — उसके पास लाल पोशाक नहीं थी।
* They did not have any house. — उनके पास कोई घर नहीं था।
* He did not have a mobile phone. — उसके पास मोबाइल फोन नहीं था।
* We did not have enough food. — हमारे पास पर्याप्त भोजन नहीं था।
* It did not have any wings. — इसके पंख नहीं थे।
* Ram did not have a brother. — राम का कोई भाई नहीं था।
* You did not have a map. — तुम्हारे पास नक्शा नहीं था।
* The room did not have a light. — कमरे में रोशनी नहीं थी।
* My sister did not have a doll. — मेरी बहन के पास गुड़िया नहीं थी।
* Birds did not have a cage. — पक्षियों के पास पिंजरा नहीं था।
* She did not have your address. — उसके पास तुम्हारा पता नहीं था।
* I did not have a camera. — मेरे पास कैमरा नहीं था।
* This box did not have a lock. — इस बक्से में ताला नहीं था।
* They did not have many friends. — उनके कई दोस्त नहीं थे।
* We did not have any problem. — हमें कोई समस्या नहीं थी।
* He did not have a job then. — तब उसके पास नौकरी नहीं थी।
* The village did not have a hospital. — गाँव में अस्पताल नहीं था।
* You did not have a ticket. — तुम्हारे पास टिकट नहीं था।
* It did not have a battery. — इसमें बैटरी नहीं थी।
