A Comprehensive Guide to Present Continuous Tense
Hello Students! Today we will learn the Present Continuous Tense. This tense is used to describe actions that are happening right now, at the time of speaking.
Identification and Basic Rules (Present Continuous के नियम)
हिंदी वाक्यों के अंत में "रहा है", "रही है", "रहे हैं", या "रहा हूँ" आता है।
* Helping Verbs: इसमें Is, Am, Are का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
* Am: केवल I के साथ।
* Is: Singular Subjects (He, She, It, Name) के साथ।
* Are: Plural Subjects (We, You, They) के साथ।
* Main Verb: क्रिया की 1st Form में -ing जोड़ा जाता है (जैसे: Go + ing = Going)।
Simple (Affirmative) Sentences
Rule: Subject + Is/Am/Are + Verb(ing) + Object.
* I am reading a book. — मैं एक किताब पढ़ रहा हूँ।
* She is singing a song. — वह एक गाना गा रही है।
* They are playing football. — वे फुटबॉल खेल रहे हैं।
* He is running in the park. — वह पार्क में दौड़ रहा है।
* We are going to school. — हम स्कूल जा रहे हैं।
* It is raining outside. — बाहर बारिश हो रही है।
* Ram is eating an apple. — राम एक सेब खा रहा है।
* You are watching television. — तुम टेलीविजन देख रहे हो।
* Birds are flying in the sky. — पक्षी आसमान में उड़ रहे हैं।
* My mother is cooking food. — मेरी माँ खाना बना रही हैं।
* The children are making a noise. — बच्चे शोर मचा रहे हैं।
* The sun is rising. — सूरज उग रहा है।
* I am drinking water. — मैं पानी पी रहा हूँ।
* They are sitting under the tree. — वे पेड़ के नीचे बैठे हैं।
* We are learning English. — हम अंग्रेज़ी सीख रहे हैं।
* He is driving a car. — वह कार चला रहा है।
* She is washing her hands. — वह अपने हाथ धो रही है।
* You are speaking the truth. — तुम सच बोल रहे हो।
* The fan is moving. — पंखा चल (घूम) रहा है।
* I am writing a letter. — मैं एक पत्र लिख रहा हूँ।
Negative Sentences
Rule: Subject + Is/Am/Are + Not + Verb(ing) + Object.
* I am not playing. — मैं नहीं खेल रहा हूँ।
* She is not crying. — वह नहीं रो रही है।
* They are not coming today. — वे आज नहीं आ रहे हैं।
* He is not doing his work. — वह अपना काम नहीं कर रहा है।
* We are not going to the market. — हम बाज़ार नहीं जा रहे हैं।
* It is not snowing. — बर्फ नहीं गिर रही है।
* Ram is not sleeping. — राम नहीं सो रहा है।
* You are not listening to me. — तुम मुझे नहीं सुन रहे हो।
* The boys are not fighting. — लड़के नहीं लड़ रहे हैं।
* My sister is not dancing. — मेरी बहन नहीं नाच रही है।
* The dog is not barking. — कुत्ता नहीं भौंक रहा है।
* I am not wasting my time. — मैं अपना समय बर्बाद नहीं कर रहा हूँ।
* They are not staying here. — वे यहाँ नहीं रुक रहे हैं।
* We are not watching a movie. — हम फिल्म नहीं देख रहे हैं।
* He is not wearing a coat. — उसने कोट नहीं पहना है (वह कोट नहीं पहन रहा है)।
* She is not telling a lie. — वह झूठ नहीं बोल रही है।
* You are not driving carefully. — तुम सावधानी से गाड़ी नहीं चला रहे हो।
* This machine is not working. — यह मशीन काम नहीं कर रही है।
* I am not feeling well. — मुझे अच्छा महसूस नहीं हो रहा है।
* They are not helping the poor. — वे गरीबों की मदद नहीं कर रहे हैं।
Interrogative Type 1 Sentences (Starting with Is/Am/Are)
Rule: Is/Am/Are + Subject + Verb(ing) + Object + ?
* Am I dreaming? — क्या मैं सपना देख रहा हूँ?
* Is she coming to the party? — क्या वह पार्टी में आ रही है?
* Are they playing cricket? — क्या वे क्रिकेट खेल रहे हैं?
* Is he reading the newspaper? — क्या वह समाचार पत्र पढ़ रहा है?
* Are we going right? — क्या हम सही जा रहे हैं?
* Is it raining now? — क्या अब बारिश हो रही है?
* Is Ram working in the garden? — क्या राम बगीचे में काम कर रहा है?
* Are you feeling hungry? — क्या तुम्हें भूख लग रही है?
* Are the birds chirping? — क्या पक्षी चहचहा रहे हैं?
* Is your father calling you? — क्या तुम्हारे पिता तुम्हें बुला रहे हैं?
* Are the children sleeping? — क्या बच्चे सो रहे हैं?
* Is the water boiling? — क्या पानी उबल रहा है?
* Am I looking smart? — क्या मैं स्मार्ट दिख रहा हूँ?
* Is the train coming? — क्या ट्रेन आ रही है?
* Are they speaking English? — क्या वे अंग्रेज़ी बोल रहे हैं?
* Is she writing a story? — क्या वह एक कहानी लिख रही है?
* Are we making a mistake? — क्या हम गलती कर रहे हैं?
* Is he wearing a watch? — क्या उसने घड़ी पहनी है?

Interrogative Type 1 Negative Sentences

* Am I not helping you? — क्या मैं तुम्हारी मदद नहीं कर रहा हूँ?
* Is she not singing? — क्या वह नहीं गा रही है?

Interrogative Type 2 Negative Sentences
Rule: Wh-word + Is/Am/Are + Subject + Not + Verb(ing) + Object + ?
* Why are you not writing? — तुम क्यों नहीं लिख रहे हो?
* Why is she not speaking English? — वह अंग्रेज़ी क्यों नहीं बोल रही है?
* What are they not understanding? — उन्हें क्या समझ नहीं आ रहा है?
* Why is he not coming here? — वह यहाँ क्यों नहीं आ रहा है?
* Why are we not playing today? — हम आज क्यों नहीं खेल रहे हैं?
